It is said that Fallingwater is the most beautiful house in the world. Blending in yet somehow managing to stand out, it certainly is one of the most unique structures we have ever seen and, from all Frank Lloyd Wright’s houses, the one I would love to live in (if I could afford the millions necessary for its preservation).
Fallingwater was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in July 2019.

Wonderful, comprehensive presentation. We were stymied twice in the past two years from exploring Falling Water – first because we had our dog; (no dogs allowed, no way, no excuses!) …then this year, running out of time after a lot more than expected time at the nearby 9/11 memorial. Some years ago we did tour FLW’s home in Scottsdale, but it was insanely hot! M 🙂

Thank you M! It was a longtime wish to explore Falling Water and very happy we made it. Hope you do too when they re-open, you won’t regret it! We haven’t been to the 9/11 memorial (Flight 93) but we did a tour of Taliesin West too, coming up in a future post.

Thank you John! Falling Water is our favourite of all the FLW houses we visited so far… it’s not just the house, it’s more the way it was built over the waterfall, in the woods. Everything about it is amazing!

I think this work may have partly inspired the design of the remodeled KLM Crown Lounge 52 at Schipol Airport in Amsterdam.

Really? I must check it out sometime! Haven’t flown through Schipol in, like, 30 years but who knows what the future brings…
